Napoleons Peanuts

About Us

About me
I’m a native from Maine who moved to New Hampshire in 2008 due to the difficult economic times many of us are currently Winning Pies at the Fryberg Fairfacing in this country. Upon moving to a new place, making the transition was difficult for my whole family. Although I did find a job, my heart has always been to do something I love doing and to own my own business.
I’ve actually won many blue ribbons for my pies! “Yes pies, not peanuts!” People in Maine who know me, often call me the “Apple Queen” because of my winning of so many blue ribbons for my pies. I’ve won the State of Maine Apple Pie 1st Place; Multi-Blue Ribbon Fair Winner; Placed in the New England Top 10. I was also a featured article in DownEast Magazine and have had my pies photographed for the L.L. Bean catalog in the 1990s.

I’m also famous for my peanuts, “Napoleon’s Peanuts.” More than 40 years ago, my father started making his all natural peanuts in the family kitchen as a healthy snack for his family. I stood by my father in the kitchen watching him cook his famous treat and eventually he taught me his secret to his famous peanuts. I started making his famous peanuts and would give them away as gifts at Christmastime. Everyone loved them so much; I’d get calls during the holidays asking for peanuts, then birthdays, and then just calls for the hunger of them. With so many compliments telling me they were the best peanuts they’ve ever tasted and so many requests; this is where it all started. I laughed and thought…and thought...The next week I visited my father and told him about my idea of selling Napoleon’s Peanuts and asked if I could use his name because this was his recipe, his name, and he taught me how to cook his famous peanuts. He was delighted and told me to go ahead. I did just that and now Napoleon’s Peanuts has grown into a successful growing company. If there were ever a contest for peanuts, I’m sure I’d win that blue ribbon as well! Thank you all! LaurieLaurie and her Dad, Napoleon

About Napoleon
Napoleon’s peanuts began in his home kitchen as a favorite treat to his family and friends. NAPOLEON LOVED HIS PEANUTS!!! He eventually taught his daughters and son how to make his famous tasting peanuts. Napoleon opened his own company called Chisholm Shoe in 1966. Napoleon’s work ethic reflected superior quality teaching the employees he hired how to hand sew shoes.  Chisholm Shoe specialized in hand sewn shoes, employing approximately 60 employees and producing approximately 3,000 pairs of Weejuns a week. Eventually Chisholm Shoe was sold to G.H. Bass & Company of Wilton, Maine. Napoleon was not only famous for his hand sewing, but also his peanuts. Napoleon’s Peanuts were not only a family favorite. Anyone who tasted Napoleon’s Peanuts complimented him on the fresh roasted taste of his peanuts, always asking him to make more.

Napoleon is now 82 years old, still very active and still cooks his famous peanuts for family and friends today.  Napoleon’s secret recipe, a family secret, his secret for success! Ingredients: Peanuts, olive oil, sea salt and Napoleon’s secret recipe :)
